Texas Governor Abbott recently signed HB 957 – the Texas Suppressor Freedom Act – and this week we visit with the bill’s author in Representative Tom Oliverson (R – Cypress). The most obvious question on my mind is how will HB 957 exempt Texas manufacturers and Texans from federal suppressor laws? Representative Oliverson turned out to be a hell of nice guy btw, certainly someone you’d want to have a beer with at deer camp.

Then we spend some time catching up with our old buddy Mark Boardman of Vortex Optics. We revisit his recent Alaskan black bear hunt, recap spring turkey highs and lows, and get into the new Venom Riflescope and latest range finding bino technology from Vortex. Also, are freshwater drum really a trash fish or do they get a bad rap when it comes to table fare?
